US officials say Washington on Oct. 18 has asked the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) dispute settlement committee to intervene in international affairs to meet new US tariffs imposed by the United States. Steel and aluminum items.

The proposal includes new tariffs from China, the European Union (EU), Canada and Mexico following the imposition of a 25 percent tariff on imported steel and 10 percent on imported aluminum, citing national security reasons.
